Manchester Computing Centre will join forces with the High Performance Computing Center Stuttgart, Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center and the Electrotechnical Laboratory, in Japan, during Supercomputing '99 to form a metacomputer distributed across Europe, Japan and the United States with a peak performance of 2.2 Teraflops.

The coupling will harness European, Japanese and United States high-speed applications from computational fluid dynamics, theoretical physics and molecular dynamics and will exploit the capacity of the metacomputer during the event in Portland, Oregon, that starts on Monday. Details at: Sc99.org
