I would like to thank The THES for the excellent article "Rag time's new vibe" (THES, May 5).

It is a very positive representation of student fundraising across the United Kingdom, of which all rags can be proud.

To correct a few facts:n I am sabbatical chair of Loughborough Students' Rag and not Loughborough University Rag because Loughborough Students' Union (of which we are part)represents students from a Loughborough further education college and Loughborough Royal National Institute for the Blind College as well as Loughborough University.

n Every year Loughborough Students' Rag raises more than Pounds 220,000 not the quoted figure of Pounds 120,000.

We are very proud of this extra Pounds 100,000 as it signific-antly sets us apart from our peers.

n The community bonfire mentioned was attended by 10,000 people, not 16,000.
