A former St Andrews University student, who says she was gang-raped while on an exchange course in Ukraine in 1996, is expected to raise an action against the university by the end of this month. Erin MacLean, who has waived her right to anonymity, is suing the university for damages and breach of contract. Three other students who were on the course may also raise actions. A university spokesman said: "We look forward to making public our reasons for our very vigorous defence of this matter."
