Wealthy, white and well-connected students are still much more likely to succeed in the law than their less well-heeled peers from ethnic minorities, according to a survey published by the Law Society this week. Older students and women are also at a disadvantage in the race for traineeships with solicitors firms, research by the Policy Studies Institute found.
