* The Royal Institute of British Architects has voiced fears that the Government's proposals for fees will put off people from poorer backgrounds from studying architecture.

RIBA director Chris Colbourne says the institute has had no clarification of how the Pounds 1,000-a-year fee proposal for students affects longer courses such as architecture.
