Manish Jethwa, a computing undergraduate at Oxford University, was named science student of the year this week. His project work on special visual effects has immediate potential in industry and could revolutionise the computer games market, the judges said. Mr Jethwa received his trophy from the science minister, John Battle, at a ceremony in London on Tuesday.
