Scot union demands end of section 28

As Scottish supporters of the retention of Section 28 prepare for a national ballot, the Association of University Teachers Scotland has publicly demanded that the legislation be repealed.

The AUTS said the law, which bans teachers from promoting homosexuality, is discriminatory and an erosion of basic human rights. Repealing the clause would remove "fears and confusions" that pupils can carry from secondary school into higher education.
