(Photograph) - Scottish showcase: Nicol Stephen, Scotland's deputy minister for enterprise and lifelong learning, was this week spreading the word to school pupils about Scotland's proposed student support arrangements. Mr Stephen, pictured at Strathclyde University's summer academy for 14-year-olds, told them that there would be no tuition fees from this autumn and that 45,000 students will receive more money each year. He also said the Pounds 10,000 earnings threshold for repaying the graduate endowment - criticised in comparison to the Pounds 25,000 threshold suggested in the Cubie report into student finance - had been set by Westminster.
