Students play dirty and get a clean sheet

Aberdeen University has avoided a public airing of its dirty linen by revoking a proposal to axe the linen service to certain halls of residence. Students had this week threatened to send up to 1,000 sheets back to the university in protest at the cost-cutting move. Rami Okasha, president of the residents' committee at Hillhead halls, said: "Students who live in halls of residence can reasonably expect to get a clean sheet once a fortnight. Many students are young people who have never lived away from home before."
