Educating Lecturing Services, which offers self-employed lecturers for short courses or part-time work, is being used for the first time in Scotland at two further education colleges, Aberdeen and Falkirk. Contracting out has affected about 550 temporary jobs at Aberdeen and about 100 at Falkirk, which has also cut hourly rates by Pounds 3.
