Universities of Bath and Bournemouth - Cash helps create screen magic

The University of Bath has been awarded more than ?12 million by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council to create two new doctoral training centres. About ?5 million will go to the university's department of computer science to train people for the special effects and animation industries. Working with the University of Bournemouth, a new centre will teach research-level skills and management expertise in special effects, animation and post-production. A second grant of more than ?7 million has been given to the department of chemistry for a doctoral centre for sustainable chemical technologies.
