A study of 3.6 million patient records held by GPs has found evidence that tens of thousands of people may be suffering from undiagnosed diabetes. A University of Warwick research team surveyed 480 GP practices in England and Wales, examining millions of electronic patient records, to look for evidence of diabetes in blood glucose levels. They found a total of 3,758 patients whose test results were indicative of undiagnosed diabetes and 32,785 borderline cases. Tim Holt of Warwick Medical School said that the findings suggest that 60,000 people in Britain may have undiagnosed diabetes.
