Ankara Hac? Bayram Veli University (AHBVU) is a public university that was formed in 2018, although it roots stretch back to 1934. It has particular strengths in social sciences, the humanities and the arts.
As a university in a vibrant metropolis, it has faculties and colleges in various locations in Ankara, Turkey¡¯s capital. Across its sites are about 20,000 undergraduate students and about 8,000 pursuing master¡¯s and PhD degrees. Teaching is provided by about 1,100 academic staff.
AHBVU organises events such as concerts, cultural festivals, theatre performances, cinema days, music and folklore shows, and exhibitions.
The university hosts about 85 student clubs and societies, which range from dance and music to traditional arts and cinema, as well as more career-oriented ones aimed at building social networks and applying students¡¯ theoretical knowledge.
AHBVU is working to expand its international network. Its students may take part in the Erasmus+ exchange programme and spend a year at another institution in Europe. They can also participate in the Mevlana exchange programme, which supports exchanges worldwide, as well as a scheme to study at another Turkish university.
