Atlas University is among the newest institutions in Turkey’s fast-developing higher education system.?
It was founded in 2018 and its main campus is the Kagithane Campus.?
There are faculties of art, design and architecture, engineering, social science, health science, dentistry and medicine.
Between them they offer 24 different degree courses. Of these, eight programmes in the art, design and architecture and health science faculties are taught only in Turkish. Computer engineering, software, psychology, nursing, physiotherapy and rehabilitation, dentistry and medicine are offered in both Turkish and English, while the remaining courses are English-only.
Atlas University has a 400-bed hospital which performs around 30,000 surgeries each year.?

Applicants should have excellent academic qualifications in legal philosophy and European Union law, as well as in the areas where these two disciplines overlap. Equivalent credentials in legal philosophy and European law are desired, along with the corresponding ability to fully represent both legal philosophy and European law in research and teaching. The relevance of the tradition of legal philosophy or of contemporary legal theory should be reflected in their scholarship, as should an in-depth examination of particularly the foundations, theories and dynamics of European integration and the European constitutional order. Furthermore, applicants should be able to conduct interdisciplinary research and to engage in international contemporary debates concerning legal matters or questions of legal policy and social issues. Habilitation or equivalent academic achievement (‘second book’) is desirable.

The Position

Reporting to the Provost and Deputy President through the Dean of the College of Biomedicine (CBM), the Head of Department will provide leadership and strategic direction in research and professional education for the Department.? The Division of Linguistics and Multilingual Studies invites applications for a full-time lecturer position. The appointment will be on an initial 3-year contract, with possibility of renewal and promotion. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Linguistics, and possess relevant teaching experience at both the undergraduate and postgraduate level. Candidates should specialise in one or more core areas of linguistics including, but not limited to phonetics/phonology, morphology/syntax, semantics/pragmatics, sociolinguistics, and psycholinguistics.

The teaching load for a lectureship is 3-4 courses per semester. The appointed candidate is expected to coordinate and teach a range of core and elective courses in the LMS undergraduate curriculum, as well as the Masters of Arts in Linguistics (MALing) Program.? The candidate will also be expected to supervise final year undergraduate theses. While this is a teaching position, a demonstrated commitment and track record of research excellence will be an advantage.
