About us

At the Centre for Developmental Neurobiology (CDN), we investigate the mechanisms governing the formation of the brain during embryonic development and in early postnatal life. This is based on the understanding that early experience shapes the way our brain is constructed. While the “ground plan” of the brain is genetically determined, it is also influenced by environmental experience. We are still far from a complete understanding of how these processes work.

CDN is one of four departments in the School of Neuroscience at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience and is located at Guy’s campus. Researchers have access to support facilities in genotyping, molecular biology and Drosophila work. CDN has close partnership with the Medical Research Council (MRC) and CDN researchers, together with clinical researchers from King’s, make up the MRC Centre for Neurodevelopmental Disorders.

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated scientist with expertise in neurodevelopment to investigate the cellular and molecular mechanisms regulating the maturation of cortical interneurons in mice, under the supervision of Prof Oscar Marín.

This is a full time (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed-term contract until 30/9/2026.

Research staff at King’s are entitled to at least 10 days per year (pro-rata) for professional development. This entitlement, from the?Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers?, applies to Postdocs, Research Assistants, Research and Teaching Technicians, Teaching Fellows and AEP equivalent up to and including grade 7. We are looking for a highly experienced specialist to ensure disabled students receive outstanding support through individually tailored tutoring or mentoring.?

Additionally, a core aspect of this post is to act as an adviser to students and applicants and the wider University community and to work on a range of projects to improve student experience. Working as part of a dedicated and holistically minded team, such activities will include developing and delivering staff training and development across the institution, as well as guidance and study resources.

The professorship covers the subject area of "Greek History" with a focus on "Greek Antiquity and Epigraphy". As a subfield of the subject “Ancient History”, Greek History is part of the broader context of the history and cultures of the ancient Mediterranean and its neighbouring areas and is considered on a broad methodological and source basis (with a predominant emphasis on all genres of written sources). Applicants are expected to cover all areas of Greek History from the Late Bronze Age to the Roman imperial period as well as topics in Greek Antiquity and Epigraphy. About the Role

We have a very exciting opportunity in the Upper Spencer Gulf for a Social Work Industry Facilitator to join the College of Education, Psychology and Social Work at Flinders University. This position, which will support the National Mental Health Pathways to Practice Pilot, will require the successful candidate to oversee and supervise the facilitation of student placements across the mental health sector.

As well as providing innovative and inspiring teaching to Social Work students, the Social Work Industry Facilitator will explore new partnerships to help build capacity for the increasing number of placements required by the University and the sector more broadly.

Some of the responsibilities of this position will include:


	Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders, including the MHPPP team, Course Coordinators, WIL team and across-disciplines to identify, develop and enact placement relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
	Working collaboratively with agencies and service providers in South Australia and the Northern Territory to identify challenges and design creative yet robust solutions for placement opportunities and workforce development.
	Contributing to the planning, evaluation and student placement assessment of these topics, undertaking the role of Topic Coordinator as required.


About You?

To be successful, you will have completed a PhD and/or have qualifications and equivalent professional experience in an area relevant to Social Work. The successful candidate will also hold, or be eligible for, membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, with a minimum of five years (FTE) of post-qualifying experience in the mental health sector.
