The European University of Tirana is a young private university in Tirana, Albania. It was founded in 2006 and won approval to award bachelor¡¯s degrees. It subsequently gained the right to award postgraduate degrees, and it won university status in 2011.
It has five faculties: economics, business and development; law, political science and international relations; humanities, education and liberal arts; engineering, informatics and architecture; and technical medical sciences.
A number of courses are taught in English, including bachelor¡¯s programmes in business informatics; finance; informatics engineering; and business management, as well as postgraduate programmes in business informatics; business administration; and business management.
EUT has partnerships that allow it to offer joint degrees with leading European institutions in countries such as Sweden, Finland, the Netherlands, Germany, Portugal, Italy, Hungary and France. It offers a joint master¡¯s degree in political science with the University of Salzburg.
Since 2015, through Erasmus+, several hundred EUT students have undertaken study or research courses in different European universities. The university has awarded more than 3,500 scholarships, and it provides fee waivers and access to loans to support international students.
Via its 500+ Program, EUT works with more than 500 of Albania¡¯s largest companies to help them achieve their goals. This scheme also allows the university to collect feedback on its courses, and it helps to line up internships for students.
Internationally, EUT has built links with many universities and has participated in numerous academic and scientific projects and staff and student exchanges.
