Your personal sphere of play:

As a postdoctoral university assistant at the Department of Contemporary History, you will be involved in research and teaching in the field of “Austrian contemporary history since 1918 in an international context.”

Your future tasks:


	You will support the professorship in research, teaching, and administration and you are ready to take on tasks at the institute.
	You conduct research and write a habilitation thesis, a second book, or a project related to the professorship's thematic focus and develop an independent research profile.
	You give lectures and publish internationally.

Your profile:


	You have in-depth knowledge of contemporary Austrian history since 1918 and are interested in deepening and communicating this knowledge in the areas of teaching, research and public outreach.
	You are planning a habilitation, a second book or a research project in one of the following areas with a focus on Austria: research on dictatorship and transformation; historical identity formation; political history and the history of social movements; contemporary and media history. A transnational perspective (comparison, transfer, circulation) is encouraged.
	You are prepared to teach a methodology course or workshop on contemporary history and media.

	Completed doctoral/PhD thesis in history or another cultural or social science subject with a focus on the 20th and 21st centuries

We are a multi-disciplinary team of higher education professionals dedicated to strengthening a valued teaching and learning community and culture at Maynooth University. We are seeking a Teaching and Learning Development Officer to join the Centre for Teaching and Learning team. The successful candidate will lead the co-ordination and facilitation of the Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma in Higher Education Teaching, Learning, and Assessment and contribute to a range of educational development initiatives towards the enhancement of teaching, learning and assessment at Maynooth University.

Applicants should hold a postgraduate qualification in Education or a related discipline. They should have substantial experience in delivering accredited programmes and professional development workshops in teaching and learning for staff, preferably in a Higher Education context, and ideally should be engaging in research in teaching, learning and assessment.

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Clinical Psychologist to join the Clinical Psychology Training Programme based in Guildford, at the University of Surrey. We have two 0.6FTE permanent roles available (three days a week) but can discuss alternatives to this working pattern for the right candidates. Our core team day is a Tuesday, with flexibility available for the other two days worked across the week. Staff are encouraged to work on site at the University of Guildford for at least one day a week (on a Tuesday), and at other times when required on campus. Hybrid working is possible across the rest of the week.?

The programme has seen an expansion in training places over the past few years, due to increased funding from NHS England. The posts therefore, offer a unique opportunity to join the team at a time of growth and innovation. The post-holder will work in close partnership with local NHS Trusts, supporting placements, supervisor training and trainee supervision, within the context of the programme’s collaborative university-NHS training ecosystem.

We welcome applications from qualified HCPC registered Clinical Psychologists with expertise across a variety of clinical or research settings. We are particularly interested in applications from Psychologists interested in neuropsychological assessment, working with Older Adults and people with Learning Disabilities. The PsychD team are a welcoming, innovative and cohesive group with a wide variety of clinical and research interests. The programme sits within the Discipline of Clinical and Health Psychology, within the School of Psychology. The School has an outstanding reputation for applied psychology training and research. There are multiple opportunities for ongoing professional development, including applicants being eligible to undertake a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (if not already held).

All post-holders must hold a clinical doctorate in psychology, or equivalent, and will be expected to contribute directly to evaluation of clinical competencies, develop links with local NHS Trusts, and contribute towards teaching and learning, in addition to day-to-day administrative tasks of the programme. The role will provide opportunities for leadership development.

Please note that this role will be offered at either Lecturer A or Lecturer B level depending on your experience (see job profiles below for further details). The salary range for a 0.6 FTE Lecturer A starts from ?22,616 and 0.6 FTE Lecturer B starts from ?28,433.

The FWF project "Music and Psychoanalysis (c. 1910–1970)" is seeking to fill a position for a student assistant (50%) starting in November/December 2025. The FWF project [P 36888-G], led by PD Mag. DDr. Andrea Korenjak, Bakk., is affiliated to the Institute of Musicology at the University of Vienna.

The position is aimed at master's students majoring in musicology, music therapy, history, psychotherapy, gender studies, or a related field.

The Institute of Musicology, integrated into the context of the Faculty of Historical and Cultural Studies, is characterized by a high degree of academic and methodological diversity, as well as internationality.

The project addresses the multifaceted theoretical approaches to the psychoanalytic interpretation of music, its proponents, and the historical context of the period between approximately 1910 and 1970: Music appears i. a. as sublimated drive energy, as a threatening force that must be tamed, as an “acoustic stimulus” that the ego must cope with, as an early form of dialogue and nonverbal communication, as a medium that enables the feeling of a pleasurable dissolution of ego boundaries, as pleasure gain, etc.

Your responsibilities will include independent research in the field of historical music and psychotherapy research, with an emphasis on the project’s focal point.
