In 2006, Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) was created by the University of Liverpool and Xi’an Jiaotong University – a top ten university in China. Entrepreneur College (Taicang) Overview

In 2019, the XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang) was launched as a pioneer of and an educational model for the future university and campus in developing talents and leaders to meet local, national, and global challenges arising from the 4th Industrial Revolution.

AIAC School Overview

The School AI and Advanced Computing (AIAC) is one of 7 industry-themed Schools in the XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang). Common to each School is an Education, Research and Development Institute (“ERDI”) for teaching and university-business research collaboration, a professional services centre supporting the daily activities of students, staff, and business partners, and a School Affiliated Company, which has been jointly established by XJTLU and the School’s industry partner for practical on-the-job learning and teaching.

AIAC has been developed with the direct involvement of leading businesses at the forefront of AI and computing developments. POSITION OVERVIEW

The successful candidate will be a senior staff member in the School and will be responsible to the Dean for effectively managing and administrating the School’s activities. Through their leadership, the candidate will ensure that the School meets its ambitious targets by creating an intellectually stimulating and vibrant environment where its students and staff can flourish.

The broad dimensions of the post are to:


	Lead and grow the research and academic profile of the AIAC in collaboration with the School’s industrial partners.
	Provide leadership and vision for the future direction and development of AI research and teaching in the School.
	Shape the School’s research strategy, deliver high-quality research, and support entrepreneurial-focused teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
	Take on leadership, management, and external engagement activities to support the School.
	Be a strong advocate for the XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang) nationally and internationally.


Responsibilities and Duties

We are looking for future colleagues in all fields of computer science, data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, natural language processing, biocomputation, numeral networks, generative artificial intelligence, or mathematical modelling who can:


	Conduct high-quality research, evidenced by publications in world-leading journals, and attract industry and government research funding by offering significant research impact.
	Deliver high-quality teaching to undergraduate and graduate students, as evidenced, for example, by peers, students and external examiners.
	Work collaboratively across the campus and the wider university to ensure an inclusive, enriching and enabling entrepreneurial learning experience.
	Work collaboratively with the Dean of School in designing and implementing the School’s Research, Enterprise, and Industrial Development strategies.
	Work with relevant colleagues and departments to identify opportunities for successfully exploration?research opportunities.
	Create and support a healthy industry-enhanced research environment, with agreed annual research outcomes and expectations, emphasizing impact and industry-funded quality research and innovation.
	Identify and implement strategies to maximise grant capture and research income from external funding bodies and business/industry.
	Supervise PhD students and mentor Early Career Researchers in PhD supervision.
	Contribute to the development of the School by providing expertise and performing horizon scanning for the development of new opportunities at home and abroad.
	Generate and manage major research grant applications to support innovative industry-focused cross-disciplinary research and become an ambassador for the School to promote interdisciplinary research and teaching activities.
	Represent the Dean of School when necessary, within the College, University and externally as appropriate.
	Any other work-related tasks assigned by the Dean of School or Director of ERDI.


Essential Qualifications/Experience

Successful applicants to the position of Professor are expected to have:


	A PhD in artificial intelligence, data science, computer science, or other relevant disciplines from a world-renowned university.
	Ideally, hold a PgCert HE or equivalent.
	Outstanding research leadership and management experience and the ability to motivate and inspire teams with good people skills.
	A national/international reputation with demonstrable impact in any research and innovation fields relevant to the School.
	Evidence of successful research partnerships with academic institutions and external organisations.
	Evidence of good, sustained, and successful leadership of research grants and consultancy contracts and conducting high-quality research, evidenced by clear impact of output and publications in leading journals.
	Demonstrable experience in cooperating with industrial partners to develop R&D projects.
	A rich experience in teaching, research, academic leadership, innovation and entrepreneurship, strategic planning and financial management in a university and business environment.
	First-class networking skills and an ability to build and nurture external contacts and partnerships, working with businesses and other organisations in the area of innovation and business support to benefit the School.
	Excellent organisational, implementation and monitoring skills to deliver successful outcomes.

Research Funding Support

The university provides every new faculty members a Research Development Fund to encourage them to initiate research projects and a Research Engagement Fund to support their continuous research activities. About the Job

We are looking for a Technical Associate (Engineering – Electrical, Electronics, and Robotics) to join our team at the University of East London. This is an exciting opportunity to support teaching, learning, and research within our specialist laboratories and workshops. You will play a key role in maintaining and demonstrating technical equipment, supporting students and staff, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

Essential Experience Required


	To support the academic courses and research of the students and staff of the University at an intermediate or advanced level of competency.
	Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and protocols in technical environments at an advanced level of competency.
	Provide first-line technical support to staff and students in the form of, but not limited to, teaching and demonstrations using lab spaces and equipment.
	Collaborate with Staff, students and course teams to understand technical requirements and provide technical expertise and support to coursework, exhibitions and research.
	Conduct and oversee regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of technical software and technical equipment (such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, multi-meters and training kits/boards) to ensure optimal performance and safety, including but not limited to PAT testing of tools and equipment.
	Conduct regular inventory checks, monitor supplies, and order necessary equipment or components as needed.


About You

You should have:


	Intermediate experience in electrical/electronics devices’ operation, maintenance and repair; electrical testing and measurement; electric vehicles, and related fields.

About the opportunity

The Sydney Conservatorium of Music's Professor Liza Lim has been awarded the prestigious ARC Laureate to lead a five-year project on Multispecies Creativity and Climate Communication.

Professor Lim aims to advance the role of the arts as the missing link in global movements of multispecies justice, using innovative musical approaches to communicate the urgency of climate change and lead social change. This project will investigate multispecies perception through music, producing new creative works, new technologies, and publications across a diversity of media. The framework of the Laureate is to provide a unique training program in music with unprecedented access to international networks.

Professor Lim's research aligns with the National Cultural Policy "Revive" - it provides benefits to the nation by addressing three policy pillars: 1) providing skills training for First Nations researchers 2) paving the way for more sustainable career pathways in the arts, and 3) advancing Australia's growing access to international markets by creating compelling experiences for people to access and respond to ecological ideas in ways that can provoke social change.

Professor Lim is excited to be inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate (Music, Technologies, Multispecies Justice) to undertake research within this ARC Laureate Fellowship project. Specific topics of focus bring Music and emerging technologies into dialogue with Ecology, Interspecies communications, Multispecies Justice and/or First Nations knowledge.

Your key responsibilities will be to:


	lead an original research project developed in discussion with Liza Lim
	collaborate on specific sub-projects developed together with Liza Lim
	present results of research (including creative work) at conferences, festivals and other settings (e.g. guest lectures, workshops) both in Australia and internationally
	publish research/ collaborate on publications in the form of written articles, an edited book, recordings or documentaries and participate in public facing communications (including radio, television, social media outlets)
	assist in developing/co-ordinating research activities (eg: workshops and conferences) and participate in the setting of future research directions of the project
	assist with the mentoring of the PhD students that are part of the Laureate program.


About you


	a PhD in creative music practice and music technology, preferably with a research focus on themes of ecology, interspecies communications and/or Multispecies Justice

The School of Advanced Technology has five departments (Intelligent Science, Computing, Mechatronics and Robotics, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Communications and networking). These hires will play a key role in advancing GU-Q's interdisciplinary teaching and research mission.Qualifications  Successful candidates will hold a Ph.D. in political science, government, or a closely related field in the social sciences. We are open to a variety of methodological approaches; the ability to teach undergraduate courses in research methods, data science, and/or statistical analysis is desirable. We particularly seek scholars with dynamic and innovative research trajectories.  Scholars specializing in political behavior, interest groups, campaigns and elections, new approaches to regional security, emerging and strategic technologies, environmental politics, and the geopolitics of international trade, supply chains, and migration are especially encouraged to apply.  Scholarly expertise in China and East Asia, Europe, or Latin America is desirable but not essential.  Candidates will demonstrate excellence in teaching and research, as evidenced by publications in-or potential to publish in-internationally recognized journals.
